Mirzoyan says Armenian-Turkish border could reopen

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said that peace with Azerbaijan already exists, while significant progress has been made in the process of normalizing relations with Turkiye.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Mirzoyan made the remarks while speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum.

“There is peace with Azerbaijan, although a few more steps still need to be taken,” he said.

Addressing the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkiye, Mirzoyan noted that the border between the two countries remains closed, but the process has advanced considerably.

“We are normalizing our relations with Turkiye. The border is still closed, but I think the process has already made significant progress. It is entirely possible that tomorrow morning we will wake up and see a headline in the news saying: ‘The Armenian-Turkish border is open,’” he added.
