Jala Aliyeva wins European Championship bronze

Azerbaijan’s women’s wrestler Jala Aliyeva has won a bronze medal at the European Championships held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.

Axar.az informs that competing in the 57 kg category, the athlete defeated Belarusian Arina Demchanka (UWW) in the bronze medal match by fall.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 25 wrestlers at the European Championships, which run until April 26.

So far, Greco-Roman wrestlers Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) have become European champions, while Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Rashad Mammadov (55 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) won bronze medals. In women’s wrestling, Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) also claimed a bronze medal at the European Championships.
