The United States has imposed sanctions on two individuals and two companies from Russia, China, and the DPRK, alleging that they are involved in a fraudulent IT scheme organized by the North Korean government.

Axar.az reports that the US Treasury Department has published information about this.

The restrictions apply to Russian citizen Vitaly Andreyev, North Korean citizen Kim Un Sun, as well as the companies “Korea Sinjin Trading Corporation” (Pyongyang) and “Shenyang Geumpungri Network Technology” (China).

The Treasury Department’s statement noted that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions on these individuals and entities for their involvement in the activities of North Korean IT specialists using fraudulent schemes to conduct cyberattacks on foreign companies.
