Trump blames ‘rogue elements’ for breaching Gaza ceasefire

Donald Trump blamed “rogue elements” inside Hamas for an attack on Israeli soldiers that threatened to derail their fragile ceasefire.

Axar.az, citing the Telegraph, reports that Israel launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on Gaza on Sunday after Hamas fighters killed two IDF soldiers in Rafah.

The new round of air strikes raised fears that the ceasefire would collapse before Israel said late on Sunday that it had “begun the renewed enforcement of the ceasefire, in line with the terms of the agreement”.

Mr Trump claimed overnight that “rogue elements, not Hamas leadership” were responsible for the latest attack on Israel, to cool fears that war could again break out in the Palestinian territory.
