Kanlaon volcano erupts, ash reaches 2 km in Philippines

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology announced the eruption of the Kanlaon volcano in the central part of the country.

Axar.az reports that the eruption began at 20:06 local time and lasted 2-3 minutes. As a result, an ash cloud reaching a height of 2 kilometers was formed.

A level 2 alert was declared regarding the eruption of the Kanlaon volcano, and the area within a radius of 4 kilometers was assessed as a danger zone.

It should be noted that Mount Kanlaon, located on the Negros Islands, is one of 24 active volcanoes in the Philippines. It previously erupted in April.
