Belarus blocks Russia’s VKontakte social network

The Belarusian authorities have decided to block Russia's most popular social network, VKontakte. The reason for this is unknown.

Axar.az reports that the website of the State Telecommunications Inspectorate of the Ministry of Communications and Information of Belarus (BelGIE) published information about this.

"At the request of the State Security Committee, access to the information resource has been restricted. The duration of the restriction is currently unknown," it said.
