“Everything that is happening is a deliberate operation orchestrated by the opposition. This is a foreign-led special operation, with both the United National Movement, Ahali, Lelo, and Gakharia all equally involved,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Shanghai.
Axar.az informs, citing 1tv.GE, according to Kobakhidze, all these groups are complicit in a foreign-backed conspiracy aimed at undermining Georgia’s national interests.
“I believe that what we are witnessing is a coordinated special operation against Georgia. The sabotage of 2020 and 2024, along with five attempted revolutions we have faced over the past four years, have all been part of a foreign-led special operation. The United National Movement, Ahali, Lelo, and Gakharia have all played equal roles in this foreign conspiracy. It is therefore unfair for them to point fingers at each other. They were all involved together in a foreign operation against Georgia’s national interests,” the Prime Minister stated.
According to him, anti-democratic and unconstitutional forces are persistently attempting to overthrow or violently alter the country’s constitutional order. In such circumstances, the democratic system must protect itself, and the mechanism for this is enshrined in the Constitution.
“This is a matter of national significance. As you can see, our country and its political system are caught in a vicious cycle. There exists a criminal group and a foreign agency that refuse to let the nation rest. These are anti-democratic, unconstitutional forces continually striving to overthrow or forcibly change the constitutional order, refusing to recognise the legitimacy of the government elected by the people.
Under such circumstances, the democratic system must, of course, protect itself, and the Georgian Constitution provides the necessary mechanism for this. It is a legal, constitutional mechanism that we will utilise to the fullest extent. We will defend the country’s interests to the utmost in the Constitutional Court.
