Contact re-established with five Italian climbers in Nepal

The foreign ministry said Thursday that contact has been re-established with a group of five climbers from the province of Como who are in the mountains of Nepal after it was lost in recent days during a deadly wave of extreme weather in the Himalayas.

Axar.az informs according to ANSA, the ministry said its consulate in Calcutta had received confirmation from both the Milan and Nepalese travel agencies that organized the trip that they climbers are well and intend to continue the expedition and return to Italy from Kathmandu on November 8.

Three Italian mountaineers have died in Nepal in recent days and two others are missing, feared dead.
