Impossible to discuss security architecture without Europeans

Russia is grateful to Turkiye for its support in the Ukrainian settlement and is ready to continue the negotiation process.

Axar.az informs this was stated to journalists by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, in response to a TASS question about whether the leaders of Russia and Turkiye had discussed the resumption of the Istanbul negotiations on Ukraine.

“The Turkish side continues to offer its services, and we are grateful to our Turkish friends for this. We are ready to provide all conditions for the continuation of the negotiation process,” the Kremlin representative said.

According to Peskov, the Kremlin understands that Washington and Kyiv are currently negotiating, and “some adjustments are being made to the original text.”

“Of course, discussing the security system in Europe—and speaking about security guarantees without a security system as a whole is difficult—is practically impossible without the participation of Europeans,” the Kremlin representative noted. “At some stage, this will certainly be necessary,” he added.
