Trump threatens Thailand and Cambodia with tariffs

US President Donald Trump has threatened the Thai and Cambodian authorities with new tariffs on their products if the hostilities between the two countries do not stop.

Axar.az reports that the American leader said this in an interview with "The Wall Street Journal".

"I just used tariffs 10 minutes ago to resolve a new escalation between Thailand and Cambodia. I said: "If you fight, I will not only terminate our trade agreement, but I will also impose tariffs on your countries," - Trump explained.

The US president expressed confidence that the possibility of imposing tariffs is an important foreign policy tool for his administration. Trump stressed that if the US Supreme Court considers some of the tariffs he has imposed illegal, it will be "terrible" for the American side.

However, the American leader assured that even in this case, he will find a legal basis for further tariffs.
