Simonyan rejects notion Armenia is against Russia

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan spoke out against creating the perception that Armenia is opposed to Russia.

Axar.az informs “I do not want there to be an understanding in Russia that Armenia is trying to do something against Russia, against a friendly allied state. Despite the fact that there are issues that need to be discussed—and I understand this—you and your colleague Ararat Mirzoyan are discussing all of this, and the leaders of our states are dealing with these matters quite successfully,” Simonyan said during a meeting in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

At the same time, he assured the Russian minister that Yerevan does not view relations in terms of “with us or against us.” “There is no such approach and there will not be. We believe this is wrong—wrong for Armenia and for everything we already have and that already exists,” Simonyan concluded.
