Pakistan to continue mediation after Iran–US talks

Pakistan will continue to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan following the conclusion of the Islamabad Talks.

The statement noted that Pakistan would maintain its role in supporting engagement between the two sides and expressed hope that both parties would continue working in a constructive spirit toward lasting peace and stability.

“We hope that the two sides continue with the positive spirit to achieve durable peace and prosperity for the entire region and beyond. It is imperative that the parties continue to uphold their commitment to ceasefire,” the statement said.

It is noted that talks between Iranian and US delegations were held in Islamabad with Pakistani mediation. The discussions concluded without a final agreement between the two sides.
