Pushkov: US has lost status as regional hegemon

The United States has lost its authority as a regional hegemon and has failed to ensure the security of its allied countries in the Persian Gulf.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Aleksey Pushkov, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation, in his Telegram channel.

According to him, despite its “assembled armada” and dozens of military bases, the United States has not been able to maintain its status as a hegemonic power.

Pushkov added that international observers see no positive outcomes of the Iran-related conflict for the United States, its allies, or military alliances. He also stated that the destruction of Iran, which he attributed as a possible reference point for U.S. President Donald Trump, does not in itself constitute victory.

He further described the Iran-related conflict as a typical war of a declining American superpower, arguing that the United States has demonstrated neither coherence nor effectiveness in its actions in Iran.
