Lavrov says Russia can ‘compensate’ for China’s resource gap

Russia could supply energy resources to China and other countries facing shortages as a result of the Middle East crisis, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Axar.az informs that Lavrov began a two-day visit to Beijing on Tuesday.

“Russia can, of course, help make up for the shortage of resources that has emerged in the People’s Republic of China and in other countries interested in working with us on an equal and mutually beneficial basis,” Lavrov told journalists after his official visit to China.

He added that Moscow has raised this possibility on several occasions.
