Poland is entering a period of heightened security readiness as Russia is expected to significantly increase its military activity in the coming weeks and months.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made the remarks at a meeting at the Government Centre for Security.

“We must be aware that from today we will be operating in a significantly heightened mode. Because we know, and can also expect, that the coming weeks and months will be a period of very intense Russian activity,” Tusk said.

“Unfortunately, we cannot rule out that the escalation will also affect our territory,” he added.
