Georgia’s State Security chief Gela Geladze resigns

The Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Gela (Geka) Geladze, has tendered his resignation, announcing the decision in a written statement.

Axar.az reports, citing Georgian media, that, according to him, “following consultations with the political team, he will continue his work at another agency.”

“I have made the decision to step down from the position of Head of the State Security Service of Georgia.

Following consultations with the political team, I will continue my activities at another agency, where I will carry on serving the interests of our country and society with full dedication. Serving as Head of the State Security Service has been an immense responsibility and a privilege to serve our country," he said.
