Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) warned that any new aggression against Iran would trigger major changes in Tehran’s defensive and retaliatory response, including a shift in the geography of the war, the weapons used and the targets struck.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, speaking in an interview, IRGC Spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said Iran is prepared for a prolonged war and warned that any renewed aggression would be met with a significantly different response, including expanding the geography of the conflict.

Asked whether the current conflict represents a new stage of the war or a continuation of the same conflict, General Mohebbi said, “From our point of view, it is the same war.” He explained that the war has different phases but “has not ended” and continues.

The IRGC has already prepared for a prolonged war and is now even more prepared for such a scenario, the spokesman stated.

General Mohebbi nevertheless warned that a new phase involving renewed aggression would bring a fundamentally different Iranian response.

“If a new aggression takes place, there will definitely be significant changes in our defense and our counteroffensive,” he said.

He identified the first major change as the geography of the conflict, warning, “We will definitely change the geography of the war.”

The IRGC spokesperson further said Iran’s targets would also change in the event of renewed aggression. He explained that Tehran’s objectives would no longer necessarily be limited to those targeted previously, stressing that Iran has new targets that have not yet been attacked.
