Estonia to build 150 bunkers near Russian border

Estonian authorities plan to build around 150 defensive bunkers in Ida-Viru County, near the Russian border, as part of the Baltic Defence Line project.

Axar.az reports that Defence Minister Martin Herem announced the plans during a parliamentary question hour.

Around 100 bunkers will be built on state-owned land, while another 50 will be located on municipal and privately owned plots. For construction on private land, the authorities plan to negotiate with owners on leasing or purchasing land or paying compensation. However, large-scale acquisition of plots along the Narva River is not planned.
