An Israeli drone has crashed inside the Hamas-run Gaza Strip for unknown reasons, Israeli Hebrew-language daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported Tuesday.

Axar.az reports citing Anadolu news.

According to a report on the newspaper’s website, the Israeli army is now investigating the incident, which reportedly occurred on Monday evening.

The incident is the latest in a series of Israeli drone crashes that have taken place over the last two years on Israel’s northern borders with Lebanon and Syria and in the blockaded Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank.

Last Thursday, the army announced that one of its unmanned aerial vehicles had similarly crashed near the city of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, both crashed drones were of the Israeli-manufactured “Sky Rider” type, which are typically used to conduct reconnaissance operations.
