Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement on the Araz River at a military parade in Baku yesterday irritated Iran.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on his Twitter account.

"Turkish President Erdogan was not informed that the words of his poem in Baku hinted at the forcible separation of the northern regions of the Araz from Iran. Was he not aware that saying this harmed the sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan? No one can talk about our beloved Azerbaijan (South Azerbaijan is meant - ed.)" the Foreign Minister said.
