Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Kremlin's press service.
"The holy month of Ramadan is over, and Russian Muslims are celebrating a bright, long-awaited holiday in love. Since ancient times, Ramadan has been celebrated with good deeds and care for those in need, embodying the desire of people to develop themselves," the congratulatory message said.
Putin noted that Muslims in Russia respect the historical, religious and cultural traditions of their ancestors and pass them down from generation to generation:
"Muslim organizations take an active part in the life of the country, strengthen interaction with state and public structures, tirelessly pay attention to charity, education and educational initiatives."
