On April 25, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, received a delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel-General Sultan Kamaletdinov, who was on an official visit to our country.

The delegation of Kazakhstan first visited the graves of the National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor, as well as the Alley of Martyrs, laid wreaths and flowers, and showed deep respect and reverence to their memories.

Then a ceremonial welcome ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defense. After the passage in front of the honor guard, the national anthems of both countries were played, and the "Book of Honor" was signed in accordance with the protocol.

Welcoming the guests, Colonel-General Z. Hasanov said he was pleased to see them in our country. The minister noted that military cooperation with Kazakhstan based on friendly and brotherly relations is of special importance and the need to expand these relations.

Kazakh representatives were informed about the reforms carried out in our Army under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

Colonel-General S. Kamaletdinov, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the sincere reception and hospitality. He emphasized the importance of such meetings in the development of military cooperation between our countries.

At the meeting, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in military, military-technical, military-educational, and other fields were discussed.

Then the First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army Colonel-General Karim Valiyev met with the delegation of Kazakhstan.

At the meeting held at the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, the current situation and development prospects of military cooperation between our countries were discussed, the importance of holding joint exercises was emphasized, as well as a detailed exchange of views on several other issues of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, the Kazakh delegation presented the medal "For services to the development of international cooperation" to Colonel Zaur Karimova, military attaché of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
