The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan within the framework of his business trip to the Republic of Gambia.
Axar.az reports that according to the information from the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan during the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the current high level of Azerbaijan-Turkiye alliance relations, and it was emphasized that the Shusha Declaration played the role of a road map for the comprehensive development of our cooperation.
A consensus was expressed that framework mechanisms such as the Azerbaijan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation play an important role in ensuring the sustainable, stable, and long-term development of our relations.
Against the background of the current geopolitical realities, the importance of the Middle Corridor in cargo transportation between East and West was discussed.
Azerbaijan-Turkiye alliance relations are manifested in multilateral platforms such as the UN, the Organization of Economic Cooperation, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Organization of Turkic States, and the importance of continuing and strengthening coordinated activities and mutual support between our brother countries was emphasized.
The other party was informed about the current state of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, and the latest developments, including the results obtained within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Armenia state commission on the delimitation of the state border.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
