Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Azerbaijan is an important event with a special place in the history of our countries.

Axar.az reports that the political scientist Ilyas Huseynov stated these words in his statement.

The political scientist emphasized that Minsk and Baku always support each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

"Belarus and Azerbaijan have always had close relations. The personal friendly relations of the heads of state made it possible to further deepen the relations. Official Minsk has always supported the territorial integrity of our country. When Armenia called the CSTO "for help" against Azerbaijan during the 44 Homeland War and later, Lukashenko strongly opposed it. We all remember how he defended Azerbaijan in the face of Pashinyan's unjust accusations and demands at the extraordinary session of the organization held in October 2022. That is, it is no coincidence that Ilham Aliyev calls Lukashenko a great friend of our country. The visit of the Belarusian head of state to Fuzuli and Shusha confirmed this once again. At the same time, this step is a clear message to the whole world and to Armenia."

Ilyas Huseynov stressed that relations with Belarus are of geopolitical importance.

"In one of the interviews given to the press, the head of our country said that special importance will be given to the development of relations with the countries that were with us during the war. Therefore, Belarus will also be among the countries participating in the restoration of regions freed from occupation. Both countries have great economic, political and cultural potential. Friendly relations between our countries that have existed for many years give us the opportunity to make maximum use of this potential for the deepening of strategic relations. This is also a necessity arising from the processes taking place on an international and regional scale.
