The first results of the "referendum" on joining Russia in the "Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics", as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine, have been announced.

Axar.az reports that the majority of voters voted to join the Russian Federation.

In Zaporozhye region – 98.19% (data on 18% of votes)

In "DPR" - 98% (data on 16% of votes)

In "LXR" - 97.82% (data on 13% of votes, total activity - 92%)

In Kherson region – 96.97% (data on 14% of votes)

The referendum was held from September 23 to today, that is, until September 27.

On September 26, the head of the security committee of the State Duma, Anatoly Vyborny, admitted that after the referendums on the annexation of these territories to Russia, the regime of anti-terror operation may be applied in "new subjects". This opinion was also expressed by the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that after the referendums held in Ukraine, negotiations with Russia will be impossible.
