The visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Yerevan may be a turning point in the relations between Armenia and Russia.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian political scientist Dmitry Suslov.

He said that the arrival of the Ukrainian leader cannot have anything to do with the real interests of Armenia.

"This probably indicates the desire of the collective West to destroy Russia's relations with the current leadership of Armenia once and for all."

According to Suslov, Zelensky's visit to Yerevan will be the pinnacle of Pashinyan's policy of turning from Russia to the West:

"It should be understood that until now Zelensky has not visited any post-Soviet country (meaning since the military operation - ed.) except for the Baltic countries. To none. He was neither in Kazakhstan, nor in Central Asian countries, nor Georgia, nor Moldova. Therefore, his arrival in the South Caucasus countries would be the peak of politics where all masks will be thrown away, as they say. Of course, if Zelensky visits not only Yerevan, but Baku as well, it will somewhat soften the negative impact, but it will not eliminate it. Unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia is officially an ally of Russia. In general, the current situation in the relations between Yerevan and Moscow is very uncertain. Serious and intensive cooperation continues in the trade and economic sphere, trade turnover is increasing, and Armenia is chairing the EU. In the sphere of politics and security, it is observed that Yerevan has openly sided with Russia's opponents. It's still possible to get it back, but it's getting harder and harder. If Zelensky visits Yerevan, it will become a turning point and it will prevent any possibility of normalization with the current leadership of Armenia."
