Russian President Volodymyr Putin instructed the government to ensure that the GDP of the country's economy ranks fourth in the world in terms of purchasing power parity.
Axar.az reports that TASS reported on this.
The Cabinet of Ministers must submit a report on this issue to the head of state by March 31, 2025, and then submit annual reports.
Among other things, the government was instructed to increase the level of total added value in the processing industry by at least 40 percent compared to 2022 by 2030, reduce the share of imports in GDP to 17 percent, and increase the volume of non-oil exports by 2/3 times.
It should be noted that in an interview with journalist Dmitri Kiselev in March, Putin stated that Russia has every chance to overtake Japan and become the world's fourth economy in the coming years.
