The return of 4 villages occupied by Armenians to Azerbaijan after the recent negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia is a great achievement. This is important not only for Azerbaijan and Armenia but for the South Caucasus region in general.

Axar.az reports that Georgian political scientist Badri Nachkebiya said these words in an interview.

According to him, after the 44-day war, negotiations between the two countries on signing a peace agreement and solving other problems are ongoing. Georgian politicians are also following this process with interest. Every success achieved in the negotiation process makes Georgians happy. Because such a successful conclusion of the negotiations increases the possibility of achieving lasting peace in the region.

He said: "It is not an ordinary event that the Azerbaijani and Armenian officials agreed to the liberation of 4 Azerbaijani villages occupied by Armenia during the meeting these days. This is the first success that the two countries conducted without international mediators and achieved positive results. This success was achieved as a result of the pragmatic foreign policy and diplomacy of President Ilham Aliyev. Therefore, it can be said that the agreement reached on the liberation of 4 villages of Azerbaijan from occupation is the success of President Ilham Aliyev's diplomacy."

"I think that positive results will be achieved quickly in the negotiation process regarding the opening of the Zangezur corridor," B. Nachkebiya emphasized.
