Vasileios Gryparis, the commander of the EU naval operation "Aspides" in the Red Sea, warned that there is a lack of ships to carry out the mission.

Axar.az reports that Der Spiegel published information about this with reference to its sources.

According to the publication, Gryparis sent official information about this to Brussels last week.

According to him, after the "Hessen" frigate returned to Germany, three ships remained at his disposal. With their help, only four merchant ships can pass through the Bab al-Mandab strait per day. Gryparis said that 10 ships are needed to effectively carry out the mission," the publication said.
