This finding may reveal the mystery of the pyramids

Scientists have found a dried-up branch of the Nile near the pyramids at Giza, which reveals the secret of their construction.

Axar.az reports that "Nature" published information about this.

Currently, the pyramids are located several tens of kilometers from the Nile, but Egyptologists previously believed that the Nile was closer to them. Satellite imagery and geological data have confirmed that a tributary of the Nile, which researchers call the Pyramid Branch, was used near many of the region's key sites thousands of years ago.

Scientists believe that this discovery may help explain why the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids in the chosen location - the river could have been used to transport building materials. They also concluded that the Nile had a tendency to change its course in the past, so people living along its banks had to migrate after the river. It is known that in the last few hundred years, the Nile has moved several kilometers to the east.
