In Aarhus, Denmark, a 53-year-old man of Afghan origin has been arrested on suspicion of espionage.

Axar.az, citing Bild, reports that he is accused of spying on Jewish and pro-Israeli institutions in Berlin on behalf of the Iranian intelligence service, allegedly to plan possible attacks.

The suspect is “strongly suspected of having worked for the intelligence service of a foreign power,” according to a statement from the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office obtained by BILD.

An arrest warrant has been issued against him.

According to Der Spiegel, the Quds Force, an elite unit of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, allegedly tasked him with preparing potential attacks in Berlin.
