The trial of Bakir Safarov, one of the Azerbaijanis detained during the operation carried out by Russian law enforcement officers against Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg on June 27, has begun.

Axar.az reports that the court is considering whether to extend the 3-day pretrial detention measure imposed on Bakir Safarov on June 29.

Today, another detained Azerbaijani, Ehliman Ganjaliyev, will also appear in court. The court will decide whether to extend the 72-hour detention measure issued during the initial hearing.

The trial of another detainee in the same case, Shahid Lalayev, is scheduled for tomorrow.

The Yekaterinburg court has made a new decision regarding Bakir Safarov.

By court order, the pretrial detention period for Bakir Safarov has been extended.

Specifically, the court has set a 22-day detention period, sending him to the investigative prison until July 19.
