The expert report on the bodies of Azerbaijani brothers Ziyaddin and Huseyn Safarov, who were killed by law enforcement agencies in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, has been released.

Axar.az reports that according to the expert report, multiple injuries were found during the external and internal examination of the body.

The head director of the Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy Unit, Adalat Hasanov, stated that the bodies were received by their department yesterday between 10 and 11 p.m. The examination of the bodies was completed around midnight.

"During the examination, we found external and internal injuries on Huseyn Mehdi oglu Safarov’s body. There were displaced bone fractures, and the chest was deformed. A large hematoma starting from the temple was found in the area around the eyes, bruises on the mucous membranes of the upper and lower lips, abrasions on the right and left eyebrow areas of the forehead, bruises on the right shoulder area of the back of the chest, bruises on the upper limbs, the scrotum, and bruises and abrasions on the lower limbs, including the thigh."

He noted that conducting a second expert examination on a body that has already been examined once is difficult.

“During the internal examination, intracranial hemorrhages were found, along with bleeding in both the dura mater and pia mater of the brain. Bilateral displaced fractures were detected on the ribs along multiple anatomical lines. The lungs were cut by the rib ends, bleeding was observed in the intercostal muscles, and tearing of the parietal pleura and lungs was identified, resulting in bilateral hemopneumothorax. Additionally, a ruptured peritoneum covered in blood was discovered. We determined that Huseyn Safarov’s cause of death was post-traumatic and post-hemorrhagic shock.”

During the external examination of the body Ziyaddin Mehdi oglu Safarov, bruises were found on his right eye, asymmetric deformation of the chest, abrasions and bruises on the buttocks, thigh, calf, and heel areas, and bluish bruises in the scrotal area.

“The internal examination of Ziyaddin Safarov revealed changes similar to those found in his brother. Specifically, hemorrhages were detected in the soft and hard membranes of the brain, compression of the chest, fractures, bilateral displaced rib fractures, bleeding in the paranephric area, hematomas, and hemorrhages in the region of the 7th and 8th vertebrae of the chest.

We determined the cause of death to be severe post-traumatic shock related to the noted injuries, which contradicts the expert conclusion from Russia,” stated Adalat Hasanov.

Notably, before examining the bodies, they were presented with death certificates issued by the Sverdlovsk region. Huseyn Safarov’s death certificate states the cause of death as trauma.

According to the expert examination conducted by Kseniya Valeryeva, it was noted that he was killed by blunt force trauma.

The report for Ziyaddin Safarov states that he died from a heart attack, specifically acute heart failure.
