Two flights bound for the United Arab Emirates have changed their routes and landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport due to temporary restrictions on airspace over Iranian territory.
Axar.az reports that Heydar Aliyev International Airport said that the captain of the Air Arabia flight operating on the Moscow-Sharjah route sent a request for an emergency landing to Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The landing of the Airbus A320 aircraft was completed at 19:43 local time.
At the same time, the regular flight of FlyDubai airline on the Baku-Dubai route was forced to return after taking off at 18:14. The Boeing 737 aircraft landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 19:30 local time.
It should be noted that Baku Airport continues its operations in full-time mode and, in addition to receiving aircraft, provides them with ground service by international aviation safety standards.
