The UN General Assembly adopted a draft resolution on declaring July 11 as "Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Day".

Axar.az reports that 84 countries voted in favor, 19 countries voted against, and 68 countries abstained.

It should be noted that on July 11-16, 1995, the Serbian army under the command of Serbian general Ratko Mladic and equipped with heavy weapons killed 8,372 Bosnian Muslims-Bosniaks in Srebrenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina. It has been proven by documents that women and children were also killed during the genocide. In addition to the Serbian army, the Serbian special security forces known as "Scorpions" also participated in the genocide.
