Since the documents signed in Washington on August 8 stipulated the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of the borders of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian government agreed to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group before the conclusion of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this on September 10 at a parliamentary session when answering a question from MP Agnessa Khamoyan from the opposition "Armenia" bloc.
According to him, the reason why the Armenian government agreed to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group after the initialing of the peace agreement was precisely the establishment of these principles:
"When we saw that several issues would be resolved in a way that was acceptable to us, we decided that we could not miss the opportunity that arose. We took these five terms and signed the document."
Pashinyan emphasized that for this reason, he withdrew from his previous request that they agree to the dissolution of the Minsk Group after the signing of the peace agreement. He also noted that there was nothing useful in the activities of the MQ.
