Primorsky set for Russia’s first private spaceport project

Russia’s first private spaceport, the “Primorsky” cosmodrome, is planned for development in Primorsky Krai starting in 2026.

Axar.az reports, citing Space Energy, the Primorsky launch complex is designed as a commercial spaceport for regular launches of small satellites, supporting the growing global demand for frequent, low-cost space access.

The facility is expected to be capable of handling up to 50 launches per year of light and ultra-light launch vehicles.

The project is positioned as a modular, cost-efficient alternative to state-owned cosmodromes, aimed at increasing launch frequency, reducing operational costs, and expanding Russia’s commercial space sector.
