Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) imposed temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft at Sochi International Airport.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that the agency made the announcement on Saturday morning on its official channel on the Max platform. The statement emphasized that the measures were taken solely to ensure the safety of civil aviation.

According to sources, the restrictions were introduced at around 6:00 a.m. and remained in effect for more than three hours. The reason cited was the threat of a drone attack. The previous day, air defense systems had reportedly destroyed 598 drones over the Krasnodar region and neighboring areas.

At 9:32 a.m. Moscow time, Rosaviatsiya announced that the restrictions had been lifted: “Restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft have been lifted.” At the same time, the mayor of Sochi announced that the city’s drone threat alert had been lifted.
