Armenia's sovereignty and jurisdiction over its territory apply to everyone without any distinction based on nationality, race, religion, or citizenship.
Axar.az reports that these words were made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on September 10 in parliament, answering a question from Agnes Khamoyan, a deputy from the opposition bloc "Armenia".
Khamoyan asked how the entry of Azerbaijani citizens into Armenia would be regulated if communications were opened: "For example, will their passports be checked, for example, will they be detained and tried if they commit a crime on the territory of the Republic of Armenia?"
Pashinyan noted that the jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia is a state principle that applies equally to everyone.
At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized that Armenia is trying to master modern technologies and mechanisms, especially in the matter of crossing borders:
"They provide passport control using reading devices in the usual mode. That is, without the participation of people. Border guards intervene only when suspicious persons are detected."
According to the Prime Minister, the government intends to use such technologies at all borders of the country - Georgia, Iran, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan: they will also be used at airports.
