Kuwait's crude exports fully halt for first time since 1991

Kuwait recorded zero crude oil exports in April for the first time since 1991, according to reports.

Axar.az, citing TankerTrackers, reported that exports came to a complete halt due to disruptions linked to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite the suspension of exports, oil production continued throughout the month. Part of the output was redirected to storage, while some volumes were processed into refined products, which continued to be exported in limited quantities.

The disruption marks a sharp break from Kuwait’s usual export levels of more than 1 million barrels per day and highlights the impact of tensions affecting one of the world’s key energy transit routes.
