Kushner adds former lobbyist to Iran negotiations team

Jared Kushner, son-in-law and advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, has added former lobbyist Nick Stewart to the team negotiating with Iran.

Axar.az reports, citing CBS News, the White House confirmed that Stewart has joined the team as an adviser.

In a statement, spokeswoman Olivia Wales described him as “a sharp, seasoned policy expert” who brings extensive experience in Iran policy, including his work at the State Department during Trump’s first term and on Capitol Hill.

U.S. officials told CBS News that Stewart was brought onto the team by Kushner.

It was also noted that Stewart previously worked for the lobbying arm of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a group known for its strong support of military action against Iran.
