Turkiye denied PA Ekrem Imamoglu

Claims that about 2.5 million refugees, most of whom are Syrians, live in Istanbul, which has a population of 16 million.

Axar.az reports that the Center for Combating Disinformation under the Presidential Administration of Turkiye released information about this.

"The news about the presence of 2.5 million refugees in Istanbul is not true. According to the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkiye, 1 million 87 thousand 17 foreigners live in Istanbul," the information said.

It should be noted that the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, announced in a meeting with business representatives in Germany that approximately 17-18% of Istanbul's official population or 2.5 million, most of whom are Syrians, are refugees.
