Dozens of flights were canceled due to the Etna

Dozens of flights were canceled or delayed at Catania airport on the Italian island of Sicily due to the Mount Etna volcano.

Axar.az reports that the airport is still open, although there will be interruptions until the end of the day. Some planes were diverted to Palermo.

Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology has confirmed a gradual increase in activity in one of Etna's craters. It is reported that the ash column is spreading in the south direction.
