BBC: If Russia captures the city

The city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region is the main transport hub. If it surrenders, Russian troops will block one of the region's main supply routes.

Axar.az reports that the BBC publication wrote about it.

According to Sergey Dobryak, the head of the Pokrovsk military administration, the ratio of forces fighting in this direction is in favor of Russia:

"The city is rapidly emptying. Just two months ago, there were still 48,000 people living here. Today, half of them have already left the city. The once bustling city center with shops and supermarkets is eerily quiet. Most of the banks, supermarkets, and cafes are closed. The hospital has been evacuated, excavators are digging new trenches in the fields."
