The Israeli army has struck the villa of Mahir Assad, the brother of Syrian President Bashar Assad, near Damascus.

Axar.az reports that this information has been confirmed by the Syrian government.

The official report stated that contact with Mahir Assad was lost after the airstrikes, and it has not been possible to obtain information about his fate.

Other reports indicate that Mahir Assad, who is the commander of the Syrian army's Fourth Division, was hit while holding a meeting with IRGC commanders at his villa.

No information has yet been released regarding the number of dead or injured.

It is worth noting that in February of this year, there were reports that Mahir Assad had been killed by Israeli intelligence.
