Russia’s embassy in the United States has rejected accusations that Moscow interfered in the US presidential election, following claims that hoax bomb threats at polling stations appeared to originate from Russia.

Axar.az reports that ,citing CNN, the embassy in Washington dismissed the allegations as “slanderous and baseless.”

“All suggestions of ‘Russian interference’ are malicious fabrications, created for use in the internal political struggles of the United States,” the embassy said in a statement.

The Russian officials added that they had not received any evidence or even requests for information from US authorities regarding the claims circulating in the media. They also accused the US government and media of engaging in “hysterics” over alleged Russian disinformation surrounding the elections.

Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has consistently denied any involvement in election meddling, calling the accusations “completely unfounded,” according to RIA Novosti.
