Trump reinvoked possibility of buying Greenland

The incoming Trump administration has reinvoked chatter about the possibility of the United States purchasing Greenland, an idea floated during the president-elect's first term in office.

Axar.az, citing Bild, notes that Trump has desired this major acquisition since his first presidential term. At that time, he even shared an edited image of a "Trump Tower" on Greenland’s coast, humorously captioned, "I promise not to do this to Greenland!"

However, the idea was shelved when Joe Biden became president.

Danish officials remain firmly opposed to selling the island to the U.S. Danish MP Rasmus Jarlov has even called for constitutional amendments to prohibit Greenland's sale.
