The new Iranian light transport aircraft "Simurgh" developed by the specialists of Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Company has successfully completed its test flight.

Axar.az reports that "Mehr" published information about this.

The Simurgh turboprop military transport aircraft, named after the mythological bird, was tested on Wednesday during the 12th Iran International Aerospace Exhibition, known as Iran Airshow 2024, on Kish Island in the northeastern Persian Gulf.

"This aircraft was designed, developed and manufactured by the Ministry of Defense and (local) high-tech firms in accordance with international standards and regulations," said Iran's Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Nasirzadeh.
