The Hungarian government has appealed to the court against the EU's decision to allocate aid to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets.
Axar.az informs that Euronews reported on this.
According to the information, the Hungarian government filed a complaint regarding the European Peace Facility (EPF). Although the case was initially submitted to the Court of Justice, it was later transferred to the General Court.
"The principle of equality between member states and the principle of democratic functioning of the European Union have been violated. A member state has been unjustifiably and without legal basis deprived of its right to vote," the lawsuit states.
It should be noted that last year, the EU Council decided to direct 99.7% of interest income from the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank to Ukraine. These funds are sent through the European Peace Facility for military assistance. Ukraine receives between 3 and 5 billion euros annually under this program.
