Russia: Armenia's EU Bid Conflicts with EEU

Armenia's accession to the European Union (EU) is incompatible with the country's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Axar.az reports that Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk said these words to journalists.

He said that if relations with the EU are limited, energy prices in Armenia will increase and exports will decrease:

"The European Union and the European Union are not compatible with each other. Both unions envisage the absence of customs borders and the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor. Therefore, the draft law "Starting the process of accession to the European Union" considered in Armenia presents this country with a choice.
